Frontline Defense
More games to play
Frontline Defense is a tower defense game where you guard your territory by placing towers along the route the enemies travel. It is free in the browser and plays unblocked at school or work, with no download and no account. The build goes back to April 2009, so it is the older, stripped-down style of the genre. Placement and timing carry the game, not unlocks.
About Frontline Defense
This is a strategy game built on one loop. Enemies move along a fixed path toward your base, and you stop them by building towers beside that path so they fire as the enemies pass. You never steer a unit in combat. Your choices all happen before and between waves: where towers go, what to build next, and when to spend or save.
How to control Frontline Defense
The mouse does everything, so the game runs fine on a phone or Chromebook.
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Select and place a tower | Left mouse button |
| Cancel the chosen tower | Press C |
| Pick a build spot | Click an open tile |
Placing towers that hold
Cash is limited, so each tower is a trade-off between coverage and firepower.
| Choice | What it gives you |
|---|---|
| Spread towers out | Wider coverage with fewer gaps |
| Cluster on a chokepoint | Heavy fire in one spot |
| Save your cash | A bigger buy before a hard wave |
Tips for clearing waves
Read the path, then commit your money where it counts.
- Put towers on corners and bends so enemies stay in range longer.
- Clear early waves cheaply and bank the rest for tougher ones.
- Reinforce the exact stretch where enemies leak through.
- Use C to cancel a bad placement before you confirm it.
